Saboteurs Behind Naira, Fuel Crises – Femi Gbajabiamila

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has observed that the current fuel and naira scarcity in Nigeria is the result of the actions of saboteurs.

Speaking at the launch of the second phase of a transportation initiative called “Gbaja Ride”, designed to empower his Surulere constituents, Gbajabiamila alleged that some elements had carefully orchestrated the fuel crisis and the lingering scarcity of naira notes to derail the successes of President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for political motives.

According to reports, 35 low-fare buses have been inaugurated to ply different routes in Surulere and environs.

Gbajabiamila reassured the public that the House of Representatives was working hard to alleviate the current hardship and bring relief as soon as possible.

He said that the lower legislative chamber has been working tirelessly to rescue Nigerians from these difficulties, and he has a good understanding of the current hardships and discomfort being faced by many citizens, including his constituents.

The speaker also mentioned that the judiciary has confirmed their position on the implementation of the policy of naira redesign, adding that the naira swap policy was well-thought-out but had been hijacked and politicised by some elements.

Gbajabiamila alleged that some individuals had created a crisis around the policy just to prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, from winning the presidential election.

Despite the current challenges, the speaker noted that Nigerians were still keeping faith with the APC and Tinubu, and he expressed confidence that the plot to derail their political aspirations would ultimately fail.
