Tinubu’s Re-election Bid Well-Deserved, Says Support Group

The Tinubu Media Volunteers, TMV has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory at the just-concluded All Progressives Congress presidential primaries as well-deserved, saying it reflects confidence in his leadership and reform agenda.

In a statement issued and signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, the group said the President’s economic reforms, though initially difficult, are necessary steps toward national recovery.

The group acknowledged that Nigerians are currently experiencing hardship following the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange windows, but maintained that the policies would yield long-term benefits.

“We believe that despite the hardship associated with the reforms of the Tinubu administration, the long-term benefits are foreseeable and will ultimately work for all Nigerians,” the statement read.

TMV said the President’s emergence as the APC presidential candidate would further consolidate ongoing reforms across key sectors, including infrastructure, education, agriculture and the economy.

It noted that the administration’s initiatives such as road construction, power sector reforms, student loan scheme, the Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), increased allocations to states, and efforts to boost food production were already laying the foundation for sustainable development.

According to the group, stabilisation in the foreign exchange market and ongoing infrastructural investments in the Federal Capital Territory were also signs of progress that would be deepened in a second term.

“We are confident that President Tinubu’s emergence as presidential candidate at the primary election will cement his achievements in infrastructure, power, exchange rate stability, and social investment programmes,” it stated.

The group further commended the President for acknowledging the challenges facing Nigerians in a recent “Thank You” message, but said his administration remained focused on delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda.

It added that if fully implemented, the agenda had the potential to significantly transform the country’s economic and social landscape.

TMV called on Nigerians to continue to support the Tinubu administration as it works towards consolidating its reforms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
