The Tinubu Media Volunteers, TMV has commended the Federal Government’s decision to recruit 1,000 forest guards and implement other security measures aimed at securing the release of students and teachers abducted from two communities in Oyo State.
The group said the measures approved by President Bola Tinubu underscored the administration’s commitment to protecting lives and tackling insecurity across the country.
In a statement issued and signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, TMV also praised the recent visit of a high-powered Federal Government delegation led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, to the affected communities.

According to the group, the visit formed part of ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to resolve the hostage situation and reassure residents of the government’s commitment to securing the safe return of the victims.
“It is noted that in the aftermath of the terrorists’ attack on the students and teachers of the schools, which has attracted outrage across the country with street protests, President Bola Tinubu had approved several measures towards ensuring that the perpetrators are apprehended and the students and teachers are rescued safely to their families,” the statement read.
TMV noted that the measures approved by the President included the immediate recruitment of 1,000 forest guards in collaboration with the Oyo State Government, consideration for the establishment of a military outpost in the affected area, and the deployment of a specialised security unit to track and apprehend the kidnappers.
The group said the interventions reflected the President’s empathy for the victims and his determination to strengthen security in vulnerable communities.
“We believe that with the wide-ranging steps approved by President Tinubu, the President has shown empathy for the victims and demonstrated his administration’s commitment towards guaranteeing the safety of all citizens,” it stated.
TMV further expressed confidence that the measures, though temporary, could pave the way for the eventual establishment of state police across the country as part of broader efforts to address security challenges.
The group also commended the President’s position that no child should become a victim of kidnapping or be denied access to education because of insecurity.
According to the organisation, the stance highlights the administration’s commitment to the safety, welfare and educational development of Nigerian children.
TMV urged Nigerians to view security as a collective responsibility and support ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to combat kidnapping, banditry and other forms of criminality nationwide.
