Trump Indicted on Multiple Counts – Could Face Historic Conviction as Former President

Former U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to be arrested on Tuesday and arraigned for charges related to paying off a porn star during his 2016 presidential campaign.
This marks the first time a former occupant of the White House has faced criminal charges, a move without precedent in U.S. history.

The charges come after a grand jury in New York voted to indict Trump on an unspecified number of criminal counts, the details of which remain under seal.
While CNN reported that the former president has been charged with over 30 counts, this medium has not been able to independently confirm the report.
The indictment is highly anticipated, particularly as Trump seeks a return to the White House after losing the 2020 presidential election.
If convicted, he would become both the only president and presidential candidate to face such charges.
