Tuchel: Why Chelsea Won’t Win the Title
By Alabidun Shuaib Abdulrahman
After slipping 16 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has stated that the club would not be able to win the title.
The Blues, according to the German, are more concerned with finishing in the top four.
Tuchel’s side started the season as one of the favorites to win the league, but they have only won once in their previous five games.
Manchester United, West Ham United, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur are battling for a place in the Champions League, and Tuchel believes Chelsea should look over their shoulder rather than competing with City and Liverpool.
“Everything is quite hard, and that is the challenge,” he said at a news conference on Friday.
“Sixteen points sounds too much, it’s too much to where we want to be and what we demand of ourselves.
“We should not get confused in thinking about winning the Premier League. We have to realise we are in the race for the top four right now which is a huge thing in the Premier League in general.
“We will not start judging competitions now. The most important thing is tomorrow against Crystal Palace and after that, we switch because are in a lot of competitions which is a good sign, we should not lose faith now.”
