2027: APC legal adviser rallies Katsina women for Tinubu, Radda
The National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress, Murtala Aliyu Kankia, has begun mobilising women across Katsina State in support of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Dikko Radda and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise is also aimed at strengthening women’s representation in the party’s leadership and decision-making structures, with plans to establish a coordinated network across the state’s local government areas.
The mobilisation drive featured an endorsement gathering at the Government Day Secondary School Assembly Hall, where women declared support for Tinubu’s re-election bid, Radda and other candidates to be fielded by the APC in 2027.
As part of efforts to translate the endorsement into an organised political structure, Kankia later held a meeting with local government coordinators at his residence in Kankia.

The coordinators were directed to select executive members in their respective areas to ensure the participation of women in the proposed network.
Kankia disclosed that the coordinators had submitted their lists of nominees, marking a step towards establishing the structure ahead of the elections.
He called for greater recognition of women’s contributions to the party, arguing that their involvement should go beyond campaigning and mobilising voters during elections.
According to the initiative’s objectives, the proposed network is expected to provide a platform for women to participate in grassroots political activities, engage communities and support the APC’s electoral campaigns.
The APC legal adviser also emphasised the need for an inclusive arrangement that would give women a stronger voice in the party’s affairs.
The initiative comes amid preparations by political parties for the 2027 general elections, with grassroots mobilisation expected to feature prominently in their strategies.
However, details of the proposed network’s leadership composition, operational framework and the number of women involved have not been made public.
It remains to be seen whether the initiative will translate into sustained political participation and greater representation for women in the party’s decision-making processes beyond the electioneering period.
