The immediate past senator representing Kwara Central in the 9th Senate, Senator Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, on Thursday declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.
The declaration, held in Ilorin, drew APC party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from across the state, where Oloriegbe emphasised the need for governance anchored on accountability and measurable results.
Addressing the gathering, Oloriegbe said leadership must move beyond rhetoric to the establishment of structured systems capable of delivering tangible outcomes for citizens.
He remarked that the future of Kwara hinges on leaders who can translate policies into real-life improvements.

As part of his declaration, Oloriegbe unveiled a policy document described as a pact with the people of the state.
The document outlines his plans to enhance security, expand economic opportunities, modernise agriculture, improve access to healthcare, and promote inclusive human capital development.
The event also featured documentaries and testimonials from beneficiaries and associates, who recounted experiences of his interventions and leadership initiatives over the years.
Noting inclusivity as a cornerstone of his agenda, Oloriegbe emphasised the need to create opportunities for women and youths, saying governance must be responsive to the needs of all segments of society.
While reflecting on developments in Kwara since 2019, he acknowledged recorded progress but maintained that greater efficiency, structure, and sustained impact are required to move the state forward.
He, therefore, called on residents to support what he described as a vision rooted in experience, compassion, and proven results, reaffirming his commitment to lead with integrity and competence.
