JUST IN: Customs Confirms Appointment of 2 Deputy, 5 Assistant Comptroller-Generals

The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) has confirmed the appointment of two Deputy Comptroller-Generals of Customs (DCGs) and five Assistant Comptroller-Generals of Customs (ACGs).
The appointments were made during the board’s 60th Regular Meeting held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.
The newly confirmed DCGs are OA Alajogun and KI Adeola, while the ACGs are IG Umar, MM Tilley-Gyado, BA Makinde, OA Salefu, and T Bomodi.

The appointments were made in response to the statutory retirement of senior officers and are in line with the Federal Character Policy.
In addition, the board approved the upgrade of the ICT Unit to a full-fledged department, with DCG KI Adeola appointed as the substantive Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of the department.
She will be supported by an Assistant Comptroller-General and five (5) Comptrollers to ensure the successful implementation of ICT initiatives aimed at enhancing the Service’s operational efficiency and digital transformation.
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, congratulated the newly appointed officers and urged them to double their efforts in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and suppression of smuggling to boost Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
The appointments and upgrade are part of the ongoing modernisation efforts within the NCS.
