Anxiety in Niger as District Head, Wives Abducted

Palpable fear has hit district of Zungerun as bandits numbering about 20 reportedly abducted community leader, Malllam Mustapha Madaki including his two wives in Wushishi Local Government are of Niger State.
It was gathered that bandits came into the community around 1am on Sunday.
According to a source in the community, the community leader and his two wives were taken to an unknown location.
“Gunmen abducted the community leader while he was with one of his wives before they were drawn out and whisked away together with other wife,” he said.
Another source in the area confirmed that bandits numbering about twenty (20) invaded the community and went straight to the Madaki’s house and carried only him and his wives.
“The gunmen parked their motorcycles about 500 meters away and walked on foot into Zungeru to attack the town.”
“The family of the victims are yet to be contacted by the bandits,” the source revealed
The ancient city of Zungeru is about 30 kilometres from Tegina, where 136 pupils abduction took place last week
At the time of this report, all efforts to get comments from the Police Public Relations Officer, PRO, DSP Wasiu Abiodun could not be achieved.
