AIT Owner, Raymond Dokpesi Arrested in London

Raymond Dokpesi, the owner of broadcaster AIT, was arrested at London Heathrow Airport on Sunday evening as he arrived from a connecting flight via Frankfurt, according to reports.
It is not clear why Dokpesi was arrested, but he was reportedly still at the airport as of Monday morning.

The Scotland Yard has not yet commented on the arrest.
Dokpesi was reportedly preparing to meet with Atiku Abubakar, the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party‘s candidate in the presidential election, in London for a political meeting.
Recall another key PDP politician, Ike Ekweremadu, has been detained in London since June 2022 on charges of organ trafficking and is set to go to trial on January 31.
