Bike Collision Claims Lives of Passengers In Mokwa

Two individuals have lost their lives, while four others sustained life-threatning injuries in a road accident in Mokwa town, Niger State on Sunday.
Eyewitnesses reported that the incident took place in Goodwill along the Lagos-Kaduna highway, where patriotic citizens were celebrating the country’s Independence Day.
A source, who witnessed the accident, informed INCNews247 that one victim, named Sayyadi, died on the spot after colliding with Bajaj Motorcycles. The other man, whose name is unknown, succumbed to injuries after being taken to the hospital.

“The man with the name Sayyadi died immediately,” adding that “While the other man whom his name is not known died after he was taken to hospital”.
“Some Nigerians celebrating the country’s 1st October on the highway also sustained injuries.
“The two deceased victims had injuries as well, while other celebrants incurred injuries on their bodies. All the deceased passengers were male,” the source further told this reporter.
The incident occurred when an Okada rider, overtaking a truck at high speed, lost direction. The overtaken Okada rider, carrying a passenger to Sarkin Pawa area, was signaling his direction before the collision.
Yahaya Ndace, another source, arrived at the scene after the accident. He described finding two badly damaged Bajaj motorcycles and the corpse of an unidentified man with blood all over.
“I was informed that the accident was caused by a group of people celebrating Independence Day,” Ndace added.
Eyewitness Salihu Kitab, present during the incident, mentioned seeing an unidentified man, possibly Hausa, and three motorcyclists involved in the accident. “The incident involved three bike riders and two guys celebrating Independence Day, while one was an Okada rider. A woman, including an elderly person, lost their lives,” Kitab narrated.
Kumar Tsukwam, the FRSC sector commander in Niger, was unavailable for comment at the time of inquiry, and a text message sent to his WhatsApp remained unanswered as of the press time.
