Hajia Biliqees Oladimeji Receives Prestigious Media Award for Outstanding Contributions to Nigerian Journalism

In a remarkable event held on May 25, 2023, the Omo Ibile Igbomina community came together to bestow the prestigious Distinguished Media Professional Award upon Hajia Biliqees Modupe Oladimeji, the Director of the Federal Ministry of Information, Ilorin Centre.
The award recognized Oladimeji’s significant contributions to the advancement of journalism in Nigeria.
The ceremony, held at the Igbomina House on Ijase-Ipo Road, Ganmo, served as a platform to honor Oladimeji and other distinguished individuals who have made substantial impacts in their respective fields.
Among the accolades showered upon Oladimeji was praise for her outstanding efforts in promoting women’s and girl-child education within the community.

Esteemed guests in attendance lauded Oladimeji’s remarkable legacy and unwavering dedication, which has played a pivotal role in fostering the growth and development of Igbomina land and beyond.
As the former Chairperson of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in Kwara State and the former National Deputy President of NAWOJ, Oladimeji was urged to continue her tireless pursuit of creating a better society through her influential mentorship.
Elder G.Y. Jimoh, the National President of the Association, spoke at the event, commending Oladimeji’s relentless work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit that have propelled her to great heights in her chosen career.
Jimoh expressed his appreciation for the exceptional patriotism and professionalism displayed by the award recipients, noting their integrity and humility.
He emphasized that the recognition bestowed upon them was a testament to their noteworthy contributions to the progress and prosperity of Igbomina land.
In addition to Oladimeji, several other distinguished personalities from the Igbomina community were also honored with various categories of awards.
Notable recipients included Chief AbdulRaheem Oladimeji, OFR, the founder of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, and Asiwaju of Igbomina-Ekitiland; Chief Peter Olorunnisola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and pioneer Commissioner for Justice in Kwara State; Chief Raheem Adedoyin, a former Commissioner for Information in Kwara State; Mr. Abdulwahab Akoshile, the General Manager of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Idofian; and Mr. Kunle Akogun, the Director of the Corporate Affairs Unit at the University of Ilorin, among several other accomplished professionals.
