Nigeria Computer Society Collaborates with NPC for Groundbreaking Digital Census

Nigeria Computer Society, under the leadership of its National President, Prof. Adesina Simon Sodiya, FNCS, recently paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), at the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja.

During the visit, the NPC Chairman expressed his gratitude to the team for their valuable insights on utilizing technology to achieve accurate and reliable census data for national planning.

The purpose of the visit was to foster collaboration and provide support to the NPC in conducting Nigeria’s first-ever digital housing and population census.

The Nigeria Computer Society emphasised the significance of maintaining the progress and preparations initiated by the administration of President Buhari in realising this historic digital census in the country.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had previously postponed the census following consultations with stakeholders in late April.

The government has stated that the decision regarding the census date will be made by the incoming administration of President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
