The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has denied allegations made by the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Governor Dikko Radda, accusing the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) of aiding and profiting from terrorism activities in the state.
In a press statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations (DDMO), refuted the claims, asserting that the military remains undeterred by such statements, which could potentially demoralize troops engaged in various operational theaters.
Buba stated that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa OFR, has zero tolerance for indiscipline and any form of criminality in the conduct of operations across the country.

He emphasized that the military has established standing court martials to address any misconduct by troops, particularly actions that tarnish the military’s reputation.
INCNews247 learnt that Governor Dikko Radda had made the accusations during an interview on the Channels Television program ‘Politics Today’ on April 5, 2024.
In response, the DDMO reiterated that the Armed Forces are committed to their mandate of conducting operations and diligently combating terrorism.
“Meanwhile, the military remains unperturbed by such statements capable of demoralizing or dampening the spirit of troops in operational theatres. Rather, we will continue on the trajectory of conducting operations as well as working assiduously in the fight against terrorism,” Buba added.
The Senior officer stressed the importance of a respectful relationship with all elected government representatives and encouraged Governor Radda to bring any substantiated allegations directly to the military high command for thorough investigation.
He, therefore, affirmed the AFN’s dedication to maintaining professionalism and integrity in its operations, continuing to work tirelessly towards ensuring the security and safety of all Nigerians.
