Ganduje Directs All Political Appointees to Resign

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the governor of Kano State, has requested all political appointees running for elective posts in the next 2023 general election to resign from their jobs.
The directive was issued to conform with Section 84 (12) of the newly amended Electoral Act, according to the governor.

Mr. Ganduje’s Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, stated in a statement on Sunday that the appointees have until Monday, April 18 to present their resignations.
Some commissioners, special advisers, and even the Secretary to the State Government were rumored to be standing for one or more elective positions.
Sadiq Wali, the Kano State Commissioner for Water Resources, had already tendered his resignation to pursue his political ambitions, according to reports.
Reports had it that Ganduje had, however, rejected the resignation of the Managing Director of Kano Road Transport Agency, Baffa Dan’agundi.
