Hope Uzodinma Orders Arrest and Detention of Imo Traders Chairman

The chairman of the Imo State Amalgamated Traders Association (ISAMATA), Mr. Emmanuel Ezeanochie, has been placed under immediate arrest and detention by Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma.
In a special statement released on Monday night, the State Government stated: “His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma, the Governor of Imo State, has ordered the arrest and detention of Mr. Emmanuel Ezeanochie, the state chairman of Imo State Amalgamated Traders Association (ISAMATA), in accordance with his resolve to rid the state of corruption in all sectors.”
“Mr. Ezeanochie was accused of using the government’s name fraudulently to unlawfully take land and market stalls for his own use, which led to the order.”
“Similarly, His Excellency has given his approval for the state executive committee of ISAMTA to be dissolved immediately.”
The Commissioner for Information, Public Orientations, and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, signed a special announcement that stated: “His Excellency further directs the relevant security agencies to expedite investigations into the allegations against the former chairman of ISAMATA, Mr. Ezeanochie, and prosecute him if indicted.”
