Ilorin General Hospital Gets New Eye Care Centre

The newly constructed Eye Care Centre at the General Hospital in Ilorin was handed over to the hospital’s Chief Medical Director today, paving the way for the provision of eye care services to Kwara State residents.

 

This came after the completion of construction work and the installation of Medical and Eye Care specific instruments at the multi-million naira project, which aims to provide quality eye care service delivery in a serene and tranquil environment that supports optimal health care, prevents infection transmission, and is fully equipped with modern eye care diagnostic and therapeutic devices.

The Honorable Commissioner for Health was represented at the event by Mrs. Iyabo Fabiyi, Director Planning Research and Statistics, who handed over the relevant keys and documents and charged the health workers present to ensure that the centre is used optimally to serve our people and that necessary strategies are deployed to make the Centre a first choice place for eye care service uptake in the country’s North Central Geo-Political zone.

 

The hospital’s chief executive officer, Dr. Bola Ahmed, who later introduced the facility’s consultant ophthalmologist, Dr. Mrs. Khadijat Olanipekun-Lawal, to the visiting team from the State Ministry of Health, praised the state government for making the General Hospital a pride of place in the country.
