Kwara Entertainers Endorse Femi Sanni’s 2027 Governorship Bid

The 2027 governorship ambition of Femi Sanni received a major boost on Thursday as stakeholders in the state’s creative sector, under the aegis of Kwara Entertainers, formally endorsed his candidacy.

The endorsement, which took place at the O2 Arena Event Centre, Ajase-Ipo Road, Ilorin, attracted a large turnout of entertainers, political supporters and party loyalists in what observers described as a blend of political mobilisation and cultural celebration.

Speakers at the event commended Sanni, also known as Araba, for his philanthropic activities and contributions to community development, expressing confidence in his capacity to clinch the governorship seat based on what they described as his track record.

A major highlight was the testimonial by veteran comic actor, Kayode Olasehinde Ajirebi, popularly known as Pa Ajirebi, who declared his full support for the aspirant.

“I have never supported a loser in my life. I am glad I was part of those who contributed to the success of the current Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq,” he said, adding that the Araba 2027 project would also record success.

Also speaking, broadcaster Abdulfatai Adeniyi Dankazeem described Sanni as the best option for Kwarans, attributing job creation and industrial growth to his entrepreneurial initiatives, particularly in youth employment.

An ace dramatist, Isiaq Olubisi Awopegba, noted that the state required a leader with a deep understanding of the creative economy, insisting that Sanni fits the profile.

On his part, Sulaiman Akinkanju pledged the support of traditional performers, offering prayers for the success of the aspiration and urging entertainers across the state to rally behind the project.

Earlier, the convener of the event, Funsho Aliyu, said the endorsement was based on Sanni’s professional background and vision for a modern and industrialised Kwara, calling on participants to mobilise support at the grassroots.

The venue was filled to capacity, with attendees spilling into adjoining areas, while cultural performances underscored the richness of Kwara’s heritage and the creative community’s backing for the aspiration.

Sanni, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers and the Nigerian Society of Engineers, is being projected by supporters as a technocrat capable of consolidating on the infrastructural strides of the current administration.
