Kwara Trains 1,800 Teachers in Modern Teaching Methods

 

Kwara State has launched a comprehensive capacity-building workshop for primary school teachers.

 

The ten-day programme, which kicked off on Monday at Queen Elizabeth Secondary School, Ilorin, has drawn no fewer than 1,800 teachers from the state’s 16 Local Government Areas.

 

Organized by KwaraLEARN, in collaboration with the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) and the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, the workshop focuses on equipping teachers with digital literacy, classroom innovation, and modern teaching methods.

 

Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, emphasized the state’s commitment to enhancing education delivery by upgrading teachers’ skills to meet 21st-century standards.

“The purpose of this training is to empower our teachers to meet the challenges of the digital age,” he said.

 

Dr. Olohungbebe charged the teachers to remain committed to shaping the future of the state by equipping the next generation with the right knowledge and values.

 

He expressed confidence that the training will positively impact classroom performance, urging participants to apply the knowledge acquired for the betterment of their pupils and the education sector at large.

 

The Managing Director of KwaraLEARN, Mrs. Laide Abel, congratulated the participants and encouraged them to be attentive and participate actively throughout the sessions to fully benefit from the programme.

 

This ambitious teacher training programme is part of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration’s broader strategy to transform the state’s learning environment and align it with global best practices in education.
