NAHCON Delegation Embarks on Pre-Hajj Visit to Saudi Arabia

A high-level delegation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), led by Chairman Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, has commenced a working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

 

The visit, which began on January 7, 2025, aims to finalize arrangements for the 2025 Hajj and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MoHU).

 

 

The delegation includes NAHCON Commissioners Prof. Abubakar Abubakar Yagawal, Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju Elegushi, and Alhaji Prince Aliu Abdulrazaq, as well as representatives from States Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards/Agencies/Commissions (SPWB/A/C) and Private Tour Operators (PTOs).

Other stakeholders, including representatives from the National Assembly, the Presidency, and the aviation industry, are also part of the delegation.

 

 

Key activities during the visit include a Bilateral Meeting and MoU signing ceremony scheduled for January 12, 2025.

 

 

The Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, will sign the MoU on behalf of Nigeria.

 

 

The delegation will also attend the International Hajj Expo, starting on January 13, 2025, to explore and evaluate service provider options for Nigerian pilgrims.

 

 

According to Prof. Saleh, the visit is crucial in ensuring that Nigerian pilgrims receive quality services during the 2025 Hajj.

 

 

He emphasized the importance of engaging with Saudi authorities and stakeholders to finalize arrangements and sign contracts with service providers.

 

The delegation will also inspect accommodation, catering facilities, and medical establishments in Makkah and Madinah to ensure they meet the required standards.

 

 

Contracts will be signed with various service providers, including United Agents, Car Syndicates, Tafweej, Adillah in Madinah, and Health Supervision Company.

 

 

The visit is expected to strengthen ties between NAHCON and Saudi authorities, ensuring a successful and hitch-free 2025 Hajj exercise for Nigerian pilgrims.
