Represented by Dr Alvan Ikoku, the Director Special Project Office, the DG said NIMC has made significant progress in enrolling Nigerians in the National Identity Management System, with over 122 million enrollments as of July 2025.
The Commission has also established partnerships with various government agencies, private sector organizations, and international organizations to enhance identity verification and service delivery.
INCNews247 reports that NIMC has introduced digital tools such as the NINAuth mobile app and the Self-Service NIN Enrolment and Modification app to improve accuracy and reduce waiting times.
Coker-Odusote urged the media to help bridge gaps in public awareness, digital literacy, and counter misinformation that threatens to undermine trust in the national identity system.
She emphasized that a secure and unified digital identity system can open doors to education, financial inclusion, enterprise support, and social protection, driving real and inclusive progress across the country.
