Ondo APC Governorship Aspirants Want Election Cancelled

Three petitions from the unsatisfied candidates who took part in the procedure were received by the appeal committee less than twelve hours after Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State was declared the winner of the governorship primary election. The three candidates have asked the party to call off the election and hold a new one.
Mohammed Abubakar, the chairman of the All Progressive Congress governorship primary’s five-member appeal committee, made this statement in the State Capital of Akure.
The petitions were submitted by Olugbenga Edema, Jimi Odimayo, and Adewale Akinterinwa, the three candidates for governor of Bauchi State, according to former Governor Abubakar.
He clarified, saying the three disgruntled candidates claimed the primary was tainted by irregularities and did not take place in their respective wards.
Following the conclusion of the primary and the announcement of the party’s nominee, we have received three petitions thus far: ones from Omoba Jimmy Odimayo, Olugbenga Edema, and Adewale Akinterinwa.
An inconclusive election that needed to be redone in one Local Government was the situation the former Governor described while on the ground. By early this morning, they were able to announce the primary results after being able to hold another election in that Local Government.
The APC has a habit of forming a committee of this kind to monitor the aftermath of the primary election. Because of this, I extended an invitation to the members of the press to come today so that I could inform them of this committee’s existence and willingness to hear any concerns that may arise from the primary election.
“The committee is here till Tuesday to gather any complaints. This is my chance to reassure our party’s members that this committee will handle any complaints we receive with thoroughness and transparency.”

“I promise that we will review all of the petitions we have received and provide a report to our party’s national headquarters in a matter of days so that the party can make a final decision on the primary. There are just three petitions that have been received as I speak with you. I’m urging all candidates who may have a complaint or complaints to kindly send them our way.”
Since then, we have set up an office at the party’s headquarters to handle any appeals that may arise. He also promised that the petition may be picked up in two days at the committee’s temporary Headquarters in Akure by Obiocha Israel, the secretary.
Recall that Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo, who also serves as the chairman of the governorship primary election committee, announced Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the winner of the governorship primary held last Saturday.
Furthermore, four candidates for Governor have objected to the way the election was conducted, citing irregularities. Among them are Jimi Odimayo, Wale Akinterinwa, Chief Olusola Oke, and Folakemi Omogoroye. To voice their disapproval of the primary’s actions, their supporters organized a rally in Akure, the state capital.
