PDP stakeholders unite in Kwara South, vow to reclaim state in 2027

Key leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kwara South Senatorial District have declared their readiness to reclaim Kwara State in the 2027 general elections.
The stakeholders made the declaration during a high-powered meeting hosted by the PDP candidate for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, Hon. Moshood Bakare.
The meeting brought together the chairmen of the PDP across the seven local government areas in Kwara South—Ifelodun, Offa, Oyun, Irepodun, Ekiti, Oke-Ero and Isin—as well as the party’s candidates for the 2027 elections.

Those in attendance included the Kwara South Senatorial candidate, the candidates for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun and Irepodun/Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Isin federal constituencies, and candidates contesting the various State House of Assembly seats across the senatorial district.
The stakeholders passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and reaffirmed their commitment to the unified structure of the PDP in the state.
They also declared that Kwara South remained firmly under the control of the PDP, pledging to work together to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
Addressing the meeting, Bakare said the party was fully organised and prepared to challenge the ruling political structure across the state.
He declared that what he described as the era of political dominance by “anti-people forces” in Kwara State had come to an end.
Bakare said, “Kwara South is fully organised and ready to sweep the polls from the grassroots to the state level.”
He urged party leaders, candidates and supporters to remain united and focused, stressing that the PDP would work collectively to secure what he described as an “absolute mandate” for the people in 2027.
