In a bid to alleviate the effects of the recent removal of petrol subsidy by the Federal Government, the Kwara State Government has approved a temporary palliative measure to provide relief to its workers.
The decision was announced today by the State Head of Service, Mrs Susan Modupe Oluwole, in a statement obtained by INCNews247 and signed by Murtala Atoyebi, Chief Press Secretary OHOS.
According to the statement, the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has directed that the workdays be reduced from five days to three days per week for every worker.

In light of the new work schedule, Mrs Oluwole has instructed all Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the State to promptly develop a format that outlines the alternating work days for each worker under their supervision.
However, the Head of Service cautioned the workers against abusing the Governor’s generosity.
She emphasized that her office would intensify the regular monitoring of MDAs to ensure strict compliance with the new work schedule. This monitoring is essential to maintain efficiency and accountability within the state workforce.

The Kwara State Government acknowledges the need to support its employees during this transitional period and remains committed to their well-being.
