Sen. Oloriegbe Awarded as Legislative Champion for Public Health Resilience

 

Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, the immediate past Senator representing Kwara Central and former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health (Secondary and Tertiary) in the Ninth Assembly, has been awarded the esteemed title of “Legislative Champion for Public Health Resilience.” This recognition, accompanied by an award and a certificate of merit, was conferred upon the former legislator during the Strategic Health Summit held on February 18, 2025, at the Lagos Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The event was organized by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Health in collaboration with prominent health advocacy organizations.

 

The summit, themed “One Vision, One Future: Uniting Stakeholders for a Healthier Nigeria,” gathered key stakeholders to evaluate the health sector’s performance since the beginning of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and to promote alignment toward the effective implementation of the Renewed Hope Health Agenda.

Notable collaborating organizations for this pivotal event included Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI), LISDEL, Nigeria Health Watch, Vaccines Network, and BudgiT.

 

Senator Oloriegbe was honoured for his exemplary leadership in advancing health reforms and for his unwavering efforts to enhance Nigeria’s healthcare system. His contributions have been vital in strengthening the nation’s health sector and ensuring the effective implementation of essential health policies.

 

Dr. Salma Ibrahim Anas, Special Adviser to the President on Health, expressed her appreciation for Senator Oloriegbe’s steadfast commitment to public health. “Senator Oloriegbe’s dedication to health reforms and his relentless pursuit of a healthier Nigeria is truly commendable.
