TCN restores power after fault on Apo transmission lines

The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN has restored electricity supply to areas affected by a planned outage at the 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation in Abuja.
The power supply was restored at 4:08pm on Sunday after the TCN completed repairs on Apo Transmission Lines 1 and 2.
The transmission company disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday and made available to INCNews247, explaining that the outage was necessary to enable its engineers to address a fault identified between Towers T130 and T132 along the two transmission lines.

According to the TCN, its maintenance crew successfully completed the OPGW latching on the two 132kV Apo transmission lines, paving the way for the restoration of electricity supply.
“Following the successful completion of OPGW latching on the 2x132kV Apo Transmission lines, power supply has now been fully restored,” the company stated.
The TCN apologised for the inconvenience caused by the outage and appreciated electricity customers for their patience and understanding during the exercise.
It reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a reliable and efficient transmission network to improve electricity supply across the country.
