The company said the exercise was necessary to enable its maintenance crew to conduct routine checks on the transformers and ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Consequently, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company will be unable to off-take electricity from the T1 transformer during the maintenance period, affecting customers in REAL and Sagamu.

TCN added that customers supplied through the T2 transformer would also be affected on Friday.

It listed the affected customers as CEPLASS, NNPC/Ogijo, Metafrique and Babcock.

The transmission company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the maintenance exercise.

The TCN management said the intervention was aimed at ensuring the reliability and sustained performance of the transformers serving electricity consumers in the affected areas.
