TDF Says Obasanjo’s Allegations Raise Questions Over Atiku’s Integrity
By Alabidun Shuaib AbdulRahman
The Democratic Front, TDF has said the recent allegations by former President Olusegun Obasanjo against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over an alleged attempt to bribe the late former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na’Abba, had raised fresh concerns about the former vice president’s integrity and democratic credentials.
The group, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Danjuma Muhammad, and Secretary, Wale Adedayo, said Obasanjo’s claims warranted serious public attention because they came from a former president who worked closely with Atiku during their time in office.

According to the statement, although the late Na’Abba was no longer alive to respond to the allegation that he was offered a N5m bribe to facilitate Obasanjo’s impeachment, the accusation should not be dismissed lightly.
The TDF noted that it was not the first time Obasanjo had publicly accused his former deputy of corruption and political disloyalty.
The group also referred to allegations contained in Obasanjo’s memoir, My Watch, claiming Atiku did not pursue legal action over the accusations.
It argued that the latest allegation had further raised questions about the former vice president’s public record and suitability for leadership.
The forum maintained that Obasanjo, having worked closely with Atiku, was in a position to assess his character and performance while they served in government.
It urged Nigerians to consider the former president’s allegations carefully ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying voters should scrutinise the backgrounds of those seeking the country’s highest office.
