Tinubu Presides Over First Council of State Meeting of His Administration

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently chairing a crucial meeting of the National Council of State at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, INCNews247 can report.
The meeting, the first convened by the present administration, brings together key stakeholders to advise the President on policy decisions and address pressing national issues.
In attendance are former Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan, as well as virtual participants former presidents Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalami Abubakar.
Notably absent is ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, who recently expressed support for the protesters’ demands.

The meeting comes on the heels of recent nationwide protests against the government’s economic policies, including the removal of fuel subsidies.
INCNews247 recalls that the protesters have called for the Federal Government to reverse its decision, citing widespread hardship and economic woes.
According to sources, President Tinubu has invited ministers to brief the Council on the administration’s policies and direction, aiming to provide members with firsthand knowledge before seeking their counsel on the way forward.
The National Council of State comprises the President, Vice President, former Presidents and Heads of State, the Senate President, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, state governors, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the Attorney-General of the Federation.
