Tinubu: Nigerian Military Assures Smooth Transition

The Nigerian Military has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth transition to a new civilian administration on May 29.
In a briefing at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami stated that the military would work with the police and intelligence community to prevent any threats to national security during the transition period.

Danmadami addressed concerns raised by some individuals calling for an Interim Government and threats by terrorist groups to disrupt the transition forthwith the declaration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President-elect.
He further stated that the intelligence community and the armed forces are working round the clock to ensure peace and security in the country, adding that they are conducting follow-up operations to arrest people who are on the verge of committing crimes or moving weapons to commit crimes.
Danmadami, therefore, urged Nigerians to go about their normal duties and not be apprehensive about the transition, assuring them that everything is under control.
