Troops Sustain Onslaught Against Terrorists, Apprehend Over 123

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that its troops have apprehended over 123 criminal elements, including terrorists’ logistic suppliers, bandits, and economic saboteurs, in various military operations across the country.
The Director Defence Media Operations (DMO), Major General Musa Danmadami, provided this information during a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday.
The troops captured 25 terrorists’ logistic suppliers in the North East, 30 suspected terrorists in the North Central, 29 suspected economic saboteurs in the South-South, 26 terrorists in the North West, and 13 criminals in the South East.

Additionally, the troops neutralised a total of 56 terrorists in various zones.
The military operations also led to the rescue of 34 civilian captives from kidnappers in the North West, as well as the liberation of two Chibok girls in the North East.
Furthermore, the troops recovered a significant cache of firearms, vehicles, fertilizers, and rustled cattle during the operations.
In the North East, a total of 545 Boko Haram terrorists/Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP members and their families surrendered to the troops due to the intensified fight against the terrorist groups.
In the South-South zone, the land, maritime, and air components of Task Force Operation DELTA SAFE have continued their efforts to combat economic saboteurs and protect national economic assets.
The troops discovered and destroyed 38 illegal refining sites, 169 storage tanks, and 24 wooden boats.
They also recovered large quantities of crude oil and Automotive Gas Oil, along with weapons and ammunition.
Additionally, 29 economic saboteurs were arrested during the operations.
All recovered items, apprehended suspects, and rescued individuals have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
