The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has entered into a fresh service agreement with Rawaf Mina Company for the 2026 Hajj, according to a statement by the Technical Assistant (Media) to the NAHCON Chairman/CEO, Ahmad Muazu.
Muazu said the contract was formalised during a signing ceremony held on Saturday in Ummul Judd, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where the NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, and the CEO of Rawaf Mina Company, Mr. Zuhair Abdel Hamid Sadayo, endorsed the agreement on behalf of both parties.
According to him, Prof. Usman used the occasion to reiterate the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that Nigerian pilgrims receive improved and value-driven services in the 2026 Hajj season.

“Prof. Usman reminded the service provider that Nigerian pilgrims demand value for money, and the Commission expects Rawaf Mina to meet those standards,” the statement read.
It added that the NAHCON boss acknowledged the company’s previous engagement, saying its challenges had been documented for corrective measures.
“Rawaf Mina is now our partner in progress. Working together last year, we identified areas requiring improvement, and we are hopeful that you will perform better than last year and exceed expectations,” Muazu quoted the Chairman as saying.
Muazu further disclosed that the Commissioner of Operations, Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju Elegushi, restated NAHCON’s regulatory mandate over tour operators.
According to him, Elegushi emphasised that the Commission would ensure that pilgrims receive the quality of service they deserve.
“This is one of the key responsibilities placed upon NAHCON, to regulate Tour Operators’ activities. While they are the major partners with Rawaf Mina, NAHCON will play its role in ensuring that pilgrims are well served,” he quoted Elegushi as saying.
Responding to concerns raised, the Rawaf Mina CEO, Sadayo, assured the Commission of the company’s readiness to surpass expectations.
He said a technical team had been set up to address all issues identified by Nigerian tour operators.
“We have taken note of your observations and will form a technical team to address all concerns. We will make Nigerian pilgrims smile,” the statement quoted Sadayo.
Also, the National President of the Association for Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria, Abdullateef Yusuf Ekundayo, expressed appreciation to NAHCON and pledged the operators’ commitment to supporting a smooth operation.
“We are ready to collaborate and work hand in hand with NAHCON for a successful operation. With the commitment of the CEO of Rawaf and the monitoring of NAHCON, we are looking forward to having the best operation, Insha Allah,” Ekundayo said.
The statement noted that the signing ceremony was witnessed by the Chairman of the Hajj and Umrah Tour Operators Association of Nigeria, Mohammed Auwal, alongside representatives of other major companies involved in the 2026 Hajj.
