The Tinubu Media Volunteers, TMV have expressed optimism that the Federal Government’s injection of N98bn into Primary Healthcare Centres, PHCs across the country will significantly improve healthcare delivery at the grassroots.

The group said the funding demonstrates that the administration of Bola Tinubu remains committed to strengthening healthcare services, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, the group described the development as a major step towards improving access to quality healthcare nationwide.

According to the statement, the Federal Government disbursed the funds in 2025 as part of efforts to enhance productivity, security and economic growth through improved health services.

The group noted that information from the government during the APC National Health Convention and Roundtable indicated that the investment represents one of the largest single-year financial commitments to grassroots healthcare delivery in recent times.

“We applaud the move as it is expected to accommodate an additional 5,212 facilities and deepen access to quality healthcare in rural areas and underserved communities across the country,” the statement read.

The group added that the funding forms part of the Tinubu administration’s broader policy aimed at repositioning the health sector as a key driver of national development.

It further disclosed that, as a result of the financial intervention, about 2,565 health centres have been upgraded, while 1,456 primary healthcare facilities are currently undergoing renovation nationwide.

The group maintained that the Federal Government’s deliberate policy of funding the upgrading of rural health institutions would strengthen communities and enhance the productivity of the local population.
