AFRD: AbdulRazaq Assures Supports for Ex-servicemen

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Governor of Kwara State, has praised the Nigerian Armed Forces’ sacrifices in maintaining peace and security as well as stabilizing the country.
AbdulRazaq stated this today at the All Saint African Church Gaakanbi, Ilorin, during an Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service to honour Armed Forces Remembrance Day and Emblem Appeal Week.
The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, went on to say that security forces have shown unrivaled patriotism, courage, dedication, and commitment as they face the challenges of safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

‘Permit me to say that this administration also acknowledges and commend the unrelenting efforts of the Nigeria Legion of Ex-servicemen at caring and providing for its members consistently in mobilizing funds annually to aid their incapacitated colleagues and families’ he said.
He added ‘we assure you of the state government support to your noble cause, as we are aware that with necessary encouragement, the legion can always be relied upon to complement the efforts of our security agencies in providing necessary security that is needed for conducive environment for rapid development in our state’.
Rt. Revd. Ade Fagbayi, who delivered the sermon titled “Fighting the Good Fight,” urged all hands to be on deck in order to achieve an enviable country in the community of nations, urging collaboration and greater synergy between politicians, the military, and the judiciary.
In his remarks, Bishop Sunday Adewole, vice chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kwara state Chapter, said that Armed Forces Remembrance Day highlights the efforts and sacrifices of officers, some of whom paid the ultimate price while serving the country.
Nigeria, the church of God, the Armed Forces, and the families of the fallen heroes all received special prayers.
The Armed Forces Remembrance Day, AFRD, is observed every January 15 to honour fallen heroes of the Nigerian Armed Forces in various wars and national assignments.
