Customs CG, Adewale Adeniyi, Awarded ‘Public Service Person of the Year 2024’

The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has been conferred with the “Public Service Person of the Year 2024” award at the 17th edition of the Leadership Conference and Awards held in Abuja.
The recognition acknowledges Adeniyi’s exceptional leadership and outstanding performance as the helmsman of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
The Leadership Group, organisers of the event, revealed that Adeniyi emerged as the winner after a rigorous selection process that evaluated the performances of over ten top-performing government officials.

Adeniyi, accompanied by his wife, Kikelomo Adeniyi, and senior NCS officers, expressed his gratitude for the award and pledged to continue enhancing trade facilitation, revenue generation, and the prevention of smuggling.
He emphasized his commitment to leadership with integrity and accountability, highlighting the importance of border management for national security.
While accepting the award, Adeniyi credited the NCS personnel for their collective commitment to transparency, efficiency, and national development.
“This award is not just about me; it reflects the collective efforts of the Nigeria Customs Service towards achieving national goals,” he stated.
Adeniyi was honoured alongside other distinguished individuals, including business mogul Aliko Dangote, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, and state governors Umo Eno (Akwa-Ibom), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Bala Mohamed (Bauchi), and Abba Yusuf (Kano State).
Other awardees included senators and private sector representatives.
