Informants Sabotaging Security Efforts — Gov AbdulRazaq

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has urged Nigerians to desist from sharing sensitive information about security operations, warning that such actions aid criminal elements in carrying out attacks on troops.
AbdulRazaq made the appeal on Tuesday while speaking with journalists during a visit to three soldiers injured in a recent terrorists’ ambush in the state.
The governor said intelligence allegedly leaked by some members of the public had enabled terrorists to launch attacks on security personnel, describing the act as sabotage.

He stressed that security operatives were making significant sacrifices to safeguard the country and deserved the support of all citizens.
During the visit, AbdulRazaq was received by the Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Nicholas Nemetne Rume, and the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Abdullah Dasilva Yussuf.
The governor sympathised with the families of three soldiers killed in the ambush and announced a donation of N20m to each of the bereaved families.
He also approved N5m each for the three injured soldiers receiving treatment.
He noted that the gesture was a stop-gap measure pending further support from the Federal Ministry of Defence.
“We are here to visit the soldiers who were ambushed by bandits. Unfortunately, we lost three of them, while three others are receiving treatment. What we can do is to pray for them and support the families of those who died,” he said.
The governor commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their dedication and called for collective action in tackling insecurity.
“I urge that all hands should be on deck in this battle against banditry and terrorism,” he said.
