JUST IN: JAMB Releases Results Checking Date, Fixes May 6 for Outstanding Exam

By Kaosara Olayemi Oladimeji

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has fixed date for the candidates who had sat for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME to check their results.

It fixes May 6 for the candidates who were unable to sit for the examination due some glitches.

According to a statement issued on Monday by JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the affected candidates include those who were verified at their centres but could not take the examination, those who could not be biometrically verified, and those with mismatched data.

Benjamin noted that JAMB had earlier scheduled the UTME to hold from April 25 to May 2, and the board had introduced some innovative methods aimed at preventing examination malpractices.

Despite recording the lowest number of cases of infractions, some candidates were unable to take the exam on the first day due to human error, prompting the rescheduling of the exam for May 6.

Out of the 1,586,765 candidates who indicated interest in taking the exam, only 80,166 are yet to take the exam.

He added that the categories of candidates scheduled to take the exam on May 6 include unverified candidates, candidates at the Beautiful Beginning CBT Centre in Apo, candidates with data mismatch, candidates rescheduled to take the exam on April 27 but who could not receive the notification slip, and candidates in centres with reduced capacity.

JAMB announced that the results of candidates who had taken the exam would be released on May 2.
