Kwara Governor Meets Army Chief Over Security Challenges

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has held a strategic meeting with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, to discuss ways to tackle security challenges in the state, particularly in Kwara North and Kwara South.
The meeting, which held at the Governor’s office in Ahmadu Bello House, Ilorin, was a follow-up to the Governor’s recent operational assessment tour of Kaiama Local Government Area in Kwara North, where he led a high-powered joint security delegation to assess the security situation in the area.

According to a statement by Olayinka Fafoluyi, Senior Special Assistant, New Media to the Governor, the meeting was aimed at strengthening the security architecture in the state and maintaining peace and harmony.
Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede thanked Governor AbdulRazaq for his support for the Nigerian Army over the years, including the recent donation of vehicles and motorcycles to the 22 Armoured Brigade.
The Chief of Army Staff assured the Governor of the force’s maximum cooperation with other security agencies in helping to stem the tide of security threats in the state.
He added that peace is being restored to affected areas.
