NAHCON Slashes 2026 Hajj Fare, Fixes Dec 5 Payment Deadline

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a reduction in the 2026 Hajj fare, offering significant relief to intending pilgrims across the country.

 

The commission, which operates under the Presidency, said the review would see pilgrims pay as much as ₦792,943.83 less than the 2025 rate, depending on their departure zone.

 

According to the new figures as seen inthe graphics released by the Commission on Monday, pilgrims from the Southern Zone will now pay ₦7,991,141.76, down from ₦8,784,085.59, representing a reduction of ₦792,943.83.

Those from the Northern Zone will pay ₦7,696,769.76, a drop of ₦760,915.83, while pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa Zone which already has the lowest fare will now pay ₦7,579,020.96, following a ₦748,104.63 reduction.

 

NAHCON also announced a December 5, 2025 deadline for full payment, warning intending pilgrims to meet the date to secure their slots for the 2026 exercise.

 

The commission said the downward review followed extensive consultations and a deliberate effort to make the holy pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims.
