The partnership was announced during a meeting between NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa CCIE, and eVillage’s Chief Executive Officer, Sunil Santanam, and his team at NITDA’s headquarters in Abuja.

INCNews247 gathered that the meeting aimed to discuss the establishment of digital infrastructure for the eVillage Innovation and Transformation Centre.

Director-General Inuwa expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its resonance with NITDA’s recently crafted Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2024-2027).

He emphasized key pillars of the plan, including Building a Robust Technology Research Ecosystem, Promoting Inclusive Access to Digital Infrastructure and Services, and Nurturing an Innovative and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem.

Inuwa underscored the potential of the partnership in establishing a technology development zone, stressing the importance of creating an environment conducive to fostering discussions on technology-driven solutions for real-world challenges.

Assuring NITDA’s support, Inuwa believes that the proposed technology development zone initiative holds promise for driving transformative change across Nigeria.

At the heart of the partnership proposal lies the acceleration of the technology development zone across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, with plans to formalize all arrangements through a memorandum of understanding.

Expressing gratitude for NITDA’s backing, Santanam highlighted the opportunities offered by eVillage, emphasizing their potential to fuel significant development, particularly benefiting Nigeria’s youthful population and the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Joy Francis, eVillage’s Director of Initiatives and Partnerships, shared insights on the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Festival slated for November.

She highlighted the event’s potential to attract the global community and establish a lasting entrepreneurial platform for both current and future generations.
