Troops Neutralise Scores of Terrorists, Rescue 11 Victims in North-East – DHQ

The Defence Headquarters on Friday said troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria neutralised scores of terrorists and rescued 11 kidnapped victims during coordinated operations across the North-East between February 9 and 13, 2026.
The military said the operations were carried out under Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, targeting strongholds of Boko Haram, ISWAP and JAS terrorists.
In a statement signed by the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, the military disclosed that offensive operations were conducted in Bama, Biu, Chibok, Damboa, Guzamala, Jere, Konduga, Mafa and Mobbar Local Government Areas of Borno State, as well as Damaturu in Yobe State and Gombi and Maiha LGAs of Adamawa State.

According to the statement, eight terrorists were arrested while several others were killed during encounters with troops.
Eleven kidnapped victims were rescued during the operations.
The military also reported an ambush encounter at a terrorist enclave in Komala Village, Jere LGA of Borno State on February 9, during which dozens of terrorists were neutralised.
Weapons, motorcycles, bicycles, household items and clothing materials were recovered from the insurgents.
It added that the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, in collaboration with Nigerian Army Aviation, carried out precision air strikes in Chongolo Kura in Bama LGA and Abbagajere Village in Damboa LGA after tracking terrorist movements.
“Battle Damage Assessment revealed that terrorists were neutralised, while their living structures were destroyed,” the statement read.
The Defence Headquarters reiterated that troops remain committed to denying terrorists freedom of action and restoring normalcy to affected communities to enable safe resettlement of displaced persons.
