Nigerian human rights activist and professor of Practice in International Human Rights Law at the Fletcher School, Tufts University, Chidi Odinkalu, has voiced his lack of sympathy for Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Odinkalu made this known during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.
Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu last Friday took the decision to suspend the former Central Bank of Nigeria helmsman, Godwin Emefiele from his position.

The presidency cited an ongoing investigation into his office and the planned reforms in the country’s financial sector as the reasons behind the suspension.
Subsequently, Emefiele was apprehended by the Department of State Services at Lagos airport while attempting to leave the country.
“I have already publicly expressed my opinion of Godwin Emefiele as Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, and I have no sympathy for him,” stated Odinkalu.
“I firmly believe that the actions that took place during his tenure as Central Bank of Nigeria Governor were criminal.
Regardless of the outcome of the legal process, I will not mourn his fate, and I doubt he would do so himself.”
