Minister of State for Defence Commends Guards Brigade for Exceptional Service

The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, H.E. Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle MON, has praised the Guards Brigade for their unwavering commitment and exemplary efforts in safeguarding the Federal Capital Territory and its environs.

 

 

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the 2024 West African Social Activity (WASA 2024) in Abuja, Dr. Matawalle commended the Commander, officers, and personnel of the Guards Brigade for their loyalty, sacrifice, and dedication to their duties.

 

 

He urged them to continue embodying compassion and empathy in their operations, striving for excellence in all their responsibilities.

The Minister highlighted the significance of the WASA event, which showcases the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria through traditional dances, local delicacies, and cultural displays.

 

 

He emphasized the importance of preserving Nigeria’s cultural heritage and distinct identity.

 

 

Earlier, Major General Adebisi Onosayan, Commander of the Guards Brigade, expressed gratitude to the President for his unwavering support of the Brigade’s operations, training, and welfare.

 

 

He also pledged the Brigade’s loyalty and readiness to contribute to the security of lives and property in the Federal Capital Territory and its surroundings.

 

 

The 2024 WASA event marked the Brigade’s Grand Finale, providing an opportunity for personnel and families to showcase Nigeria’s social diversity, cultural identity, and rich heritage.
